Joe Slezinger converted this toy like MTH oil derrick # 30-9027 to a very nice looking scale model simply by disassembling it and painting it. It is installed with the base buried under the scenery.  We used cinders and light gray ballast around the base. The cinders look like oil saturated rocks. The bubbler tube was replace with a tube cut from a ball point pen.
